A former Green Beret, Vietnam veteran John Rambo, is assigned to Southeast Asia in order to find evidence about still-missing POWs. He finds himself up against Vietnamese soldiers who are still guarding these camps, as well as the Russian military which oversees the camps and officials from the American state department, all of whom sent Rambo there knowing full well that it was a mission that would end badly.
