Bartertown lies at the edge of a desert that retains some remnants of technology despite having fallen into disuse after civilization was eradicated, providing Max shelter in his post apocalyptic world where all machines have stopped working and barbarians control what remains. Max soon finds himself involved in an intense power struggle as well as having to rescue innocent children found. In this third Mad Max movie he must not only survive Bartertown itself as well as desert itself before saving any innocent youngsters that he finds.
