Robert Conway and a small group of civilians crash land in the Himalayas and are quickly rescued by people of Shangri-la, an idyllic valley protected by mountains from World War II's impending darkness outside. Shangri-la offers Robert an alluring haven from which he can escape his daily troubles; an escape which proves life changing for Conway himself.
